Ever wondered what are basic principles that led to the innovative 'dancing petals' of supersonic nozzles. Russians pioneered such systems first in the air-air missile & then in their MiGs as well as Sukhois. Europeans now followed & has developed their own TVC system:

The yellowish covering in the MiG-29 nozzles is ceramic coating.
Now the technical document that explain these 3-D movements, I have added further info to make this even more comprehensive!
